Tard CE – Set Retarder

The CHRYSO®Tard CE admixture is an effective solution to extend the workability time of cement by delaying the setting process. This product is particularly useful during the summer months, when high temperatures can accelerate the drying of the mix. With this admixture, the mix remains workable for a longer period, preventing premature drying.

Product Description:

CHRYSO®Tard CE is an admixture that temporarily coats the surface of cement particles, delaying their hydration reactions. It primarily retards the initial setting time without significantly affecting the final set.

Once the setting process is complete, hardening occurs rapidly and high early strengths are achieved. CHRYSO®Tard CE is therefore especially recommended for concrete requiring extended workability retention and high short-term strength. This admixture has no surfactant effect and does not alter the consistency of the concrete mix.

Applications:

CHRYSO®Tard CE can be used with all types of cement in any application where delayed setting time or extended workability is required, without compromising early strength development.

Dosage:

The recommended dosage range is 0.2% to 2% of the cement weight.

The setting delay depends on the type of cement used, as well as ambient temperature and humidity. The length of the delay is proportional to the dosage applied. The exact dosage must be determined through preliminary testing, according to the desired retardation effect.
