PIERI® DRC 1000 is a form-release surface retarder specially formulated for architectural precast concrete applications. It allows finishes to be achieved in which the fine aggregate becomes gently visible after surface washing. It is the lowest-attack retarder, designed to obtain a finish where the fine aggregate is only slightly exposed.
Applications:
Precast concrete moulds, including those with complex vertical, horizontal or inclined shapes.
Visible faces of architectural elements requiring a very fine exposed-aggregate surface.
Urban furniture.
Elements where a decorative finish with very fine exposed aggregate is required.
Function:
The product contains setting-retarding agents that delay cement hydration only in the first layer of the fresh concrete surface. This allows, once the rest of the concrete has hardened, the removal of this thin layer of cement paste by pressure washing with water, without affecting the structural mass. The result is a controlled exposure of the aggregate (gravel or sand), creating a granular, uniform and natural texture.
Coverage:
Between 7 and 8 m²/l.
Packaging:
Supplied in 20 l containers.
