Acrylic Copolymer for GRC Manufacturing
Dyflex LP 9908 (formerly known as Forton) is a water-based acrylic copolymer emulsion, specifically developed as a polymeric additive for the production of GRC (Glass Fibre Reinforced Concrete).
The incorporation of Dyflex LP 9908 into glass fibre reinforced cement matrices allows the production of a stronger, more durable and dimensionally stable material, with excellent physical properties and optimal workability throughout the entire manufacturing process.
Main Technical Functions in GRC
- Reduction of the water/cement ratio, allowing the production of more compact and higher-strength mortars.
- Significant improvement in workability, even at low w/c ratios, facilitating industrial production.
- Enhanced adhesion between the cementitious matrix and the glass fibres.
- Decreased porosity and reduced water absorption.
- Reduction of drying shrinkage and moisture-related movements.
- Prevention of surface cracking.
- Improved LOP (Limit of Proportionality) values and enhanced durability of naturally aged GRC.
- Improved colour uniformity in pigmented GRC.
Applications
- Manufacture of architectural GRC: façade panels, precast elements, lightweight components and complex geometries.
- Decorative and structural GRC elements with smooth, textured or pigmented finishes.
- Thin cement-based systems, such as microcement, where increased adhesion, flexibility and crack control are required.
